Hi! I’m Berkley.
I help female entrepreneurs legally protect their businesses so they can spend less time worrying, and more time creating. I am a lawyer, mom, and entrepreneur, and I believe that life is too short to do something you don’t actually love.
In 2014, I graduated from Boston College Law School with a law degree and the superlative of “Most Likely to Quit the Practice of Law and Become a Housewife.” My heart just wasn’t in it - instead of moot court, I experimented with banana bread recipes.
After law school, I started a legal lifestyle blog which became a creative outlet to talk about the part of law I loved (providing education and empowerment) with the things that really made me happy (cooking, home decor, being a mom). Through blogging, I met tons of women like me – women who wanted work-life balance, flexibility, and control. Creative entrepreneurs who wanted to make a living without losing their freedom or themselves, but who were fearful and overwhelmed with the “legal stuff” involved in running an online business. The best part about my law degree became using it to help my new entrepreneurial friends create sustainable and legally protected businesses. The more I helped them with their legal questions, the more I saw the need for accessible, affordable, and quality legal templates and resources, specifically tailored to women in creative online industries.
With this reality in mind, I created BerkleySweetapple.com. I am a girl’s girl at heart and I believe every woman should have the opportunity to use her unique gifts to create a successful business. I hope that this company can give female entrepreneurs peace of mind in the legal arena and empower women to monetize their passions.
